A dolphin once again was found stranded in Bali. This time, the mammal was found on the beach of Tanjung Benoa, in a dead condition, Thursday (February 4). The dolphin found is a bottlenose.

It is estimated that this animal died from being bitten by a shark. Because, from external inspection, it was found that there was a wound on the lower part of the body, like being bitten by a cookie cutter shark. Not only that, there were also injuries that resulted in a broken muzzle, and a type of stalked barnacle was found in the wound. “There is a strong suspicion that a shark bite caused the dolphins to die,” said the Head of the Coastal and Marine Resources Management Agency, Permana Yudiarso, ST. MT., When confirmed.

The evacuation of the dolphin was carried out by Danpal KP XI – 1010 along with the Bali Dolpine water sport crew and the Bali Bersih NGO. This female dolphin has a length of 182 centimeters, body circumference of 90 centimeters. Then the poor mammal was taken to the Kedonganan clinic. This dolphin is estimated to have died 1 to 3 days, because it is still fresh. “Currently the carcass is brought to Kedonganan vet and is stored in a cold room and will be necropped by the veterinarian to find the cause of death,” he said.
