 A Doctor From Sanglah Hospital Tested Positive For Covid-19

The number of Covid-19 patients in Denpasar again increased by 1 person. A female doctor (30) who served in Sanglah Hospital tested positive for Covid-19, Thursday (May 21). She is a resident who lives in Dauh Puri Klod Village, Denpasar. This adds to the record of medical personnel exposed to Covid-19, after previously a woman (49) who worked as an administrative staff member at the Micro Biology Lab in Sanglah Hospital tested positive for the disease on Tuesday (May 19).

Spokesman of the Denpasar City Covid-19 Task Force I Dewa Gede Rai confirmed the information of the addition of 1 new confirmed case and this was local transmission. “Right, we just got a report that there was a new confirmed positive case, a resident who live in Dauh Puri Klod Village. The number of PDP (people under surveillance) has increased by 4 people per day,” he explained.

Furthermore, Dewa Rai explained, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in Denpasar was 73 cases. The details are 54 recovered, 2 people died, and 17 people are still being treated.

From the development of this case, Dewa Rai still reminded that in addition to a positive case, the existence of OTG (asymptomatic people) from tracing results held by the Covid-19 Task Force Team together with the village / Kelurahan authority still poses a threat of new transmission. For that, the community needs to continue to increase vigilance. This also underlies the application of Mayor Regulation on PKM (Restrictions on public activities) in Denpasar.

Until now, the tracing results from the Task Force team in Denpasar found that accumulatively there were 435 cases of OTG status, but 124 of them were confirmed healthy after undergoing independent isolation, leaving 311 OTG. Cumulatively the number of ODP recorded 303 cases, but have undergone independent isolation and confirmed healthy as many as 241, so there are still 62 ODP remaining. While the cumulative number of PDP was 55 cases, but 21 of them were confirmed negative after undergoing a swab test, so there were 34 PDP status remaining. (MBP1)
