Kecak Performance At Uluwatu Tourist Attraction Reopens

Tourism Management of Badung Regency has received a certificate of readiness, this indicates that the Uluwatu Tourist Destination Area (DTW) already has a Covid-19 Prevention SOP that meets standards. With this certificate, it is hoped that it can foster a sense of public trust, especially tourists visiting the Uluwatu area.
In fact, on August 22, 2020, Kecak dance with a new era of Balinese life was launched which had not been staged since the beginning of the pandemic. During the long holidays, Uluwatu Tourist Attraction again performed a Kecak dance for the public, Saturday (October 31).
The Manager for outer area of Uluwatu Temple, Drs. I Wayan Wijana said that during the performance, the Covid-19 prevention health protocol was actually implemented. For example, male dancers wear masks and female dancers wear face shields. Not only that, when entering the parking area, everyone is checked for body temperature and masks. “Before entering the attraction area and buying an entrance ticket at the counter, visitors must wash their hands or spraying their hands with hand sanitizers and have their temperature checked once again,” he said.
Meanwhile, for visitors who will watch the Kecak dance performance, their body temperature is also checked, they must wear a mask and wash their hands with soap in the running water. In fact, in this case, the manager also wears a mask, gloves and face shield. “Only after that they were allowed to enter the Kecak dance performance area,” he said.
During this pandemic, the Kecak show which was previously flooded with spectators is now starting to be limited. From the previous capacity before the pandemic reached 1,200 people, now it is limited to only 400 people. Not only that, visitors are required wearing a mask and keeping a distance while around the Kecak dance performance area. “We limit the audience from the normal capacity of 1,200 to 400 people to maintain physical distancing,” he explained.
Kecak performance at Uluwatu Attraction was officially reopened, starting October 31, 2020. The performance will be held every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, 18.00-19.00 Central Indonesia Time. (MBP1)
