“Audiobooks are a development from printed books, then digital books or e-books and today is a sound book. Literary and literature works are read aloud. This is an ever increasing trend as it is one of the fastest growing publishing segments,” said Marlowe Bandem, founder of audiobook.com.
He added that audiobookportal.com is the domain for creative people to publish literary works in the form of sound books. Besides offering different aesthetic and artistic experiences, the enjoyment of literary works through aural sensations makes it easier to disseminate knowledge to the wider public, and is in line with the preferences of the millennial generation in consuming science digitally.
Anom Darsana, founder of Antida Record Bali who is also the founder of audiobookportal.com explained that the process of making an audiobook is quite unique, because it goes through several technical stages. Later the writers can read their work directly or they can appoint a speaker to represent the reading. “After the recording process, we will edit or arrange the sound of the recording, combine it, cut unnecessary parts, and make a whole audiobook, then mix by adding some effects and music illustrations where they also work with the musicians until the final process of mastering audiobook works and ready to be published on various digital platforms,” he explained.
Kadek Purnami, the author of the book “Sebab Cinta” in audiobook.com, said that she had a different experience when she turned this book into an audiobook. This sound book provides a large space for the imagination. The addition of musical illustrations makes this sound book richer.
