Sanglah Hospital, together with the Bali Provincial Social Office (Dinsos), routinely cremates abandoned bodies every year. This is a form of holistic service at Sanglah Hospital in providing complete service to the community. The Tri Kona concept in Hinduism is actually implemented in Sanglah General Hospital. Starting from birth, children, adolescents, adults until death are treated at Sanglah Hospital.

For this reason, Sanglah Hospital again held a Cremation ceremony for abandoned bodies, Monday (November 9). The cremation which is carried out according to Hindu belief in Bali with the simplest level, is held for two days, followed by Nganyut procession to Segara (sea), Matahari Terbit Beach, Sanur, Tuesday (November 10). “For this time, the number of bodies that were cremated was 30 consisting of bodies, babies and skeletons. As for the age of the body from 2017 – 2020.

This cremation was carried out after all the bodies were released from the Police and the Social Office,” said Director of Operational and General Planning at Sanglah Hospital, Dr. Ni Luh Dharma Kerti Natih, MHSM., before the cremation procession.

Furthermore, she said, with this cremation activity, it would certainly increase the storage capacity of the corpse at the Sanglah Hospital Forensics. So that in the future, services to the community, especially medical treatment and storage of bodies, will continue to run well. “Let’s pray together that the ceremony will run smoothly, and that all the cremated bodies will have the best place in the Realm of Silence,” she hoped.

We would like to thank the Cremation Team, to the Bali Provincial Social Office, which regularly backs up funding for this cremation. Likewise, thanks to the Head of Sector Police in the Bali region who have responded by issuing a letter of release of the body which was deposited in the Sanglah Hospital Forensics. (MBP)
