“Reopening tourist destinations, especially for international borders or accepting foreign tourists, is not as simple as saying it, the complexity is quite high, as well as when we talk about the travel bubble. Bilateral efforts are needed to produce an agreement between the two related countries, such as applying the same standard health protocols, “Wishnutama said when giving a press statement, in the sidelines of the National Coordination Meeting for Tourism and Creative Economy, at the Westin Resort, Nusa Dua, Bali, Thursday (November 26).

Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali Provincial Tourism Office, Putu Astawa, said that considering that Bali is currently pressing the number of Covid-19 transmission, it is necessary to implement strict health protocols to reopen tourist destinations in Bali. “Bali has implemented health protocols since July 2020, in collaboration with industries that already have LSU certificates, this is done to increase a sense of security and trust for tourists,” said Putu.

Putu Astawa also said that Bali is very dependent on the tourism sector, because this sector accommodates 1,245 million workers. In addition, tourism also generates foreign exchange and provides a fairly high number of tourist visits. “So it requires a selective, limited, and gradual analysis of the study to reopen tourist destinations,” said Putu.
