Due to the reduced flight traffic, I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport began adjusting operating hours by setting up existing flight traffic starting on February 18, 2021. The hourly aircraft movements will be adjusted to 10-14 existing aircraft that can be optimized. Meanwhile, its capacity can serve 18 aircraft per hour.

Meanwhile, according to General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Branch, Herry A.Y. Sikado, this change in operating hours will start on Thursday (February 18) which operates for 13 hours, namely 07.00 – 20.00 Central Indonesia Time, previously 07.00 – 23.00 Central Indonesia Time or for 16 hours. This optimization, he said, can be extended or shortened according to flight traffic conditions.

“Paying attention to the movement of aircraft at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, we are taking steps to optimize operating hours, where the movement rate of 10-14 existing aircraft per hour can be optimized, for the capacity we have can serve 18 aircraft per hour.” He said during a press release Thursday evening.

This policy, he continued, has been approved through Notice To Airmen Number (NOTAM) A0363 / 21 concerning Changes in Airport Operational Time and through meetings with related parties at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. Regarding the adjustment of operating hours, his party has coordinated with related parties, especially airlines, to immediately adjust the change. In addition, airlines must also inform prospective passengers if there is an impact of changes in operating hours. However, he admitted that he would continue to maintain the level of service provided, especially ensuring the implementation of health protocols and comfort while at the airport. (MBP1)
