Escape With His Lover, Russian Interpol Fugitive Arrested In A Villa

The Bali Police Mobile Detective Team (Resmob) together with TPI Ngurah Rai Class I Immigration officers, managed to arrest two Russian fugitives, Andrew Ayer alias Andrey Kovalenko and his partner Ekaterina Trubkina. After 13 days and 12 nights of escaping since Thursday (February 11), the two foreigners from Russia were arrested at a villa in the Seminyak area, Wednesday (February 24) at 01.30 Central Indonesia Time.
According to the Immigration Division of the Bali Ministry of Law and Human Rights Regional Office, Eko Budianto, after the escape of the two fugitives, the TPI Ngurah Rai Class I Special Immigration Office deployed all of its staff to conduct searches throughout Bali. This was done to prevent the two from escaping outside Bali.
Eko further said that after 13 days of investigating the case, the Bali Police Mobile Detective Team (Resmob) together with the TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office officers on February 23, at 21.50 Central Indonesia Time moved to one of the suspected hiding places in the North Kuta area. From the information, it was found that the two fugitives lived in the Canggu area.
Eko added that at 22.00 Central Indonesia Time, the team moved to one of the villas on Jalan Bumbak Dauh. However, when they arrived there, information was obtained that the two Russian fugitives had moved to a villa on Jalan Umalas I.
At around 01.15 Central Indonesia Time, the team that had arrived at the location then immediately conducted a house search to find the whereabouts of the fugitives. Finally, precisely at 01.30, the team managed to find the two Russian citizens inside the villa. “During 13 days and 12 nights, officers are really moving and continuing to search. The Russian fugitives are currently being secured in the Detention room of the TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office,” he said during a press statement at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Wednesday. Meanwhile, the Director of Criminal Investigation of the Bali Police, Kombes Pol Djuhandhani Rahardjo, said that regarding the arrest, the legal process in Indonesia would be further processed, including his partner. If a criminal is found to help escape her partner, there must be legal accountability in Indonesia.
As is known, Andrew is an Interpol fugitive who is included in the Red Notice. The man who has a passport numbered 7536xx has previously served a criminal sentence at the Class IIA Kerobokan Prison. After the criminal sentence period ends, he is handed over to the TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office on February 3, 2021 to be subject to Immigration Administration Action, deportation and proposed ban.
On February 11, 2021, Andrew plans to move from the Detention Room of the TPI Ngurah Rai Special Class I Immigration Office to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center due to the limited detention space.
During the administrative process for the transfer, Andrew was visited by his female partner named Ekaterina Trubkina at around 13:20 Central Indonesia Time. After being visited, Andrew carried out a process of checking back by the officers. However, he said, during the examination process the Russian citizens sneaked out of the examination room and fled.
