 Ignoring Health Protocol, Man Who Responsible for Mass Yoga in Gianyar Will Be Immediately Deported

The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali has questioned Barakeh Wissam, a Syrian citizen who is in charge of mass yoga activity at the House of Om (PT. Aum House Bali), Gianyar Regency. Barakeh is currently placed in the Denpasar Immigration Detention House and threatened with deportation.

Head of Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali Jamaruli Maniuruk at Denpasar Immigration Detention House, Wednesday (June 24), said that Barakeh, who served as Director of the House of Om, had ignored Covid-19 preventive health protocol. The person held the activity and invited more than 60 participants to create a crowd.

As it is known, the government has issued various bans amid the Covid-19 pandemic, one of which is related to activities involving many people because of the potential transmission of the disease. In addition to violating these rules, mass yoga activity also did not get official approval from the local customary village or just verbal notice. “Participants also do not wear a mask,” he added.

He explained further, Barakeh is the holder of ITAS Investor Stay Permit with register number 2C12EB0367-T issued by the Class I Immigration Office TPI Denpasar. This permit is valid from 12 December 2019 until 11 November 2021. For various violations committed, Barakeh is subject to strict sanctions.

Barakeh was declared in violation of the Minister of Health Regulation regarding guidelines on large-scale social restrictions in the context of acceleration of handling of Covid-19 and Bali Governor Instruction Number 8551 of 2020 concerning strengthening of prevention and handling of Covid-19 in Bali.

Related to that, the violator is subject to immigration administrative sanctions in accordance with Article 75 Paragraph 1 of Law number 6 of 2011 concerning immigration. Sanctions imposed in the form of deportation. “He will be deported while waiting for the flight schedule to his country,” he said. (MBP1)
