During the Covid-19 pandemic, many foreign nationals could not return to their countries and had to stay in Indonesia, especially Bali. To facilitate stay permit for the foreigners, the Special Class I Immigration Office of TPI Ngurah Rai held socialization on Directorate General of Immigration Policies regarding visas and immigration stay permits for the 2020 fiscal year, Thursday, September 9, in Nusa Dua, South Kuta.

Through the activity opened by the Head of the Intelligence and Immigration Action (Inteldakim) Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of Bali, Mohammad Ridwan, it is hoped that foreigners who are still in Bali will know the policies related to visas and stay permits.

According to Mohammad Ridwan, foreigners who are still in Indonesia, especially in Bali who have not yet been able to return to their country, are still given the opportunity until September 20 to obtain visas and stay permits. Past that date, they will be subject to an overstay. “Before September 20, they must have arranged for an extension of their stay permit, otherwise they will be subject to an overstay,” he said when opening the event representing Bali Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

He added that for the arrangement for the extension of this stay permit, during the Covid-19 pandemic, everything was done online. According to him, the applicants can access it through the immigration office’s social media. “There have already prepared requirements, as well as matters related to applying for an extension of a stay permit,” he said.

Along with the new normal order, the immigration service has issued several policies due to Covid-19. This is also an effort to facilitate foreigners who have not been able to return to their countries. The new policy related to visa and stay permit processing, he said, was important to convey to provide clarity of information and clarity for foreigners to avoid overstaying for them. “For this reason, this socialization is carried out so that the guarantors, sponsors of representatives of foreign countries and foreigners know about the latest policies regarding stay permits for foreigners,” he added.
