Russian citizen Andrew Ayer alias Andrei Kovalenka who is an Interpol fugitive, escaped from the
Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Thursday (February 11). When it was found out that he had run away, the officers of the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office had conducted a search and chase, but was not found.

According to the Head of Information and Communication,
the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Putu Suhendra Tresnadita, at that time Andrew Ayer ran away during the administrative process of transferring from the
Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center. According to him, Andrew ran away after being visited by his female colleague named Ekaterina Trubkina, who is also a Russian citizen. “Andrew Ayer fled during the administrative process of moving from the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center at 13:20 Central Indonesia Time,” he said in his statement, Saturday (February 13).

He revealed that Andrew Ayer is an Interpol fugitive who is included in the Red Notice. The man who has a passport numbered 7536xx has previously served a criminal sentence at the Class IIA Kerobokan Prison. After the sentence period ends, he was handed over to the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office on February 3, 2021 to be subsequently subject to deportation and proposed bans.
“On February 11, 2021, Andrew plans to move from the Detention Center of the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center because of the limited detention space that the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has,” he said.

Furthermore, he said, during the administrative process of moving from the Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center, in order to obtain information, collect data and prepare a letter of submission for later collection by Interpol, the man was visited by his female colleague, at 13:20 pm. After being visited by his female colleague, Andrew carried out a re-examination process by the officers. However, during the examination process he sneaked out of the examination room and fled.

“The Class I Special TPI Ngurah Rai Immigration Office has now deployed all personnel to find the whereabouts of the Russian national together with the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, the Singaraja Class II Immigration Office and a team from the Bali Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. But he hasn’t been found yet,” he explained. (MBP1)
